London, UK, January 25, 2012 — Retailers looking to thrive in the challenging climate of 2012 have been given the chance to start or develop their online presence through a competition organised by Gloople, the UK’s first social sharing e-commerce platform, and Pure London, the UK’s leading trade fashion event for sourcing cutting edge women’s fashion, accessories and footwear brands.

The prize is industry-recognised Gloople’s online ecommerce platform, which is worth £3,000 and will give the winning SME the impact of a big brand by building and maintaining an online store.

‘With the UK online market defying the recession to grow at 16% per year, not to mention the impact of social networking on identifying and engaging with your target audience, it’s more crucial than ever to get online,’ says Warren Knight, co-founder and director of Gloople, who will be sharing his social media expertise with visitors at the Pure London February show.

‘It’s great to work with Pure London who, like Gloople, are dedicated to supporting upcoming talent in the industry. We can’t wait to start working with the winner, and watching their businesses grow like so many of our previous clients.’

Finalists for the Innovation in E-Commerce Award by Econsultancy Innovation Awards and “Highly Commended” by Ecommerce Expo for Innovation in Ecommerce, Gloople will work closely with the winner to tailor the package and its additional features to suit their business and their customers.

The customisable platform comes with a wide range of fully integrated tools, including group-buy apps, wholesale, portable storefronts and mobile platforms. Gloople also incorporates social media and social sharing functionality, widely identified as a key driver in the ongoing growth of online retail by facilitating connections between retailers, consumers and their communities.

To be eligible, entrants must be pre-registered for and attend the Pure London event, held this year on February 12-14 at Kensington Olympia, London, as well as meeting the following criteria:

In business less than 24 months

Turnover £100k or less

Based in the UK

Sell products in the UK

Have more than 20 products

To enter, entrepreneurs should email Gloople at [email protected] to tell them, in 30 words or less, why they could use a new online store, beginning with ‘I could use a new Gloople Online Store because…’ The winner will be announced after the Pure London show.
