Azor, IL, 25 Oct 2011: International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF), known globally as one of the trusted organizations for self defense systems,  is now offering Krav Maga Instructor courses for law enforcers. A person working as a law enforcer needs a particular set of self-defense skills as he is expected to enforce the rule of law while using only proximate force. The course is designed to suit the specific requirements of law enforcement personnel.

Talking about the Krav Maga courses, a spokesperson with the organization commented, “Courses offered by us help individuals learn self-defense skills as well as combat techniques to defend others.  Krav Maga is no traditional martial art. It involves none of the usual karate or Kung Fu rituals. It is an effective hand-to-hand combat system which makes the trainee an expert street fighter.”

Thanks to flexibility, Krav Maga techniques can be modified to fit each country's set of laws. As a law enforcer is expected to use only minimum force, the training classifies violence into levels of magnitude – from the highest level (Firearms), through the moderate levels (knives etc.), to the lower levels (empty-handed combat). As the law does not permit the law enforcer to hurt civilians without a valid reason, he often finds out combat arts such as Krav Maga very useful.

The course trains law enforcers to put to use their tools to the best possible effect. As the spokesperson commented, “Law Enforcers are equipped with specific tools and weapon. We teach them how to maximize the efficiency of these tools to fulfill their mission in the best way possible. They learn how to use handcuffs efficiently, use your pistol as a cold weapon, when you cannot fire or don't want to.”

The training teaches the law enforcers Krav Maga techniques for controlling the opponent, rather than killing him or retreating without harm. It enables the law enforcers to continue operating under unusual and complicated situations. It allows them to use force without violating the mandate of law. Training is conducted in a short period of time. Training content can be modified to fit each country's set of laws.
