Detroit, MI, November 17, 2011 — Most pizzerias have a delivery area of a few miles. Cloverleaf Pizza Carryout and Delivery has a delivery area of a few more: three million square miles, to be exact. That's the land area of the continental United States, and Detroit-based Cloverleaf Pizza has developed an innovative online mail order system that brings the rich flavor of the famous and authentic Detroit-style pizza recipe to any kitchen coast to coast.

Customer demand inspired Cloverleaf Pizza co-owner Shawn Randazzo to develop Cloverleaf Pizza's mail order system. For years, former Detroit area residents and visitors located throughout the U.S. asked him to mail his award-winning pizzas to them. Randazzo knew he had a winner and went to work establishing an online ordering system.

“For many customers, Cloverleaf's original Detroit-style pizza is more than just great flavor. It rekindles memories,” said Randazzo. “Some grew up here and moved away, others celebrated special moments at Cloverleaf Pizza. I'm very proud that our recipe has made such an impression on our customers that they want to enjoy it everywhere.”

Most of Cloverleaf Pizza's mail order customers are familiar with Detroit-style pizza, which some have dubbed the “upside down pizza” and “red top pizza” for its trademark finishing touch: the signature red sauce is poured on after the cheese and toppings. Many customers order Cloverleaf Pizza not only for themselves, but also as gifts for family and friends. Other orders come from pizza competition attendees, as Cloverleaf Pizza has won several recent national awards.

Implementing a successful nationwide pizza delivery system wasn't without challenges. One of Randazzo's first priorities was to ensure his product arrived fast and fresh, which he accomplished by packaging his pizzas in a revolutionary Techni Ice system that keeps food cold during the two- to- three-day trip. He also kept pricing under $50 for three pizzas and shipping, no small feat considering major competitors often charge twice that, exceeding $50 for shipping alone.

“Our emphasis is on quality, fair price and customer service,” said Randazzo. “Our awards prove our original recipe is one of the best in America. That so many loyal customers inspired our mail order system is a testament to Cloverleaf's rich flavor and history. They've always loved our pizza, but couldn't get it outside of Detroit. Now they can, and my job is to make sure everyone in America gets to try Cloverleaf Detroit-style pizza.”
