Beginning in early 2012, a Low Emissions Package will come standard on all Chevy Volt cars sold in the state of California. Volt owners will then be able to apply for one of the 40,000 HOV lane stickers that are available, qualifying vehicles as a “California Enhanced, Advanced Technology – Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle”. The Low Emissions Package will also qualify Volt owners for a $1,500 rebate from the state of California through the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project. The $1,500 rebate is in addition to the federal tax credit of $7,500 for electric vehicles.
