Las Vegas NV, 04-JUNE-2014 – Lake Mead Chiropractic and Dr. Matthew Mortensen are pleased to announce that pain from headaches can be alleviated by using the techniques which come under the heading of chiropractic medicine. The chiropractor Northwest Las Vegas operates under the philosophy of chiropractic medicine, which focuses on whole body healing and wellness. Pharmaceuticals are not the answer, since they tend to lose effectiveness over time.
According to Dr. Mortensen, speaking in a recent interview, "There are many types of headaches. The causes range from allergies to misalignments of the spine. The triggers can include noise, lights, stress, too much exercise and insomnia. Most headaches are known as primary headaches, in which the headache itself is the primary issue. Only five percent are warning signals associated with specific physical problems."
He continues, "Primary headaches include tension, cluster and migraines. Most of this group is linked to muscle tension in the neck. Long hours spent sitting in one position or posture causes joint irritation and muscle tension. There are actions you can take to avoid this type of trigger. They include taking a break every thirty minutes or so and doing stretching exercises to give your neck and shoulder muscles a chance to rejuvenate. Drink at least 96 ounces of water daily to avoid dehydration."
The therapy sessions feature chiropractic adjustments to improve the functionality of the spinal column and thus alleviate system stress. The doctor provides nutritional advice. He may recommend some dietary changes and the addition of B-complex vitamins. Advice is offered on exercises, relaxation techniques, posture and ergonomics.
