Meet Mary Banos.
“For many years I had wanted to write books to help people. In August 2009 one of my brothers committed suicide, and I was going through my period of grieving. I always try to find something positive in times of negative experiences,” she said.

“There wasn’t anything positive in my brother’s death, so I decided to turn that period of time into something positive by starting my first book while I went through those months of grieving. A book to encourage others was birthed from a death in my family. I am excited that I have received feedback from people ages 15 – 82, who have been impacted and uplifted from my book. It is fulfilling its purpose.”

Mary Banos is the author of Uplifting One Life at a Time.  She believes that regardless of your past, regardless of your obstacles, and regardless of what other people think – you can create your own path, and reach your goals and dreams in life.

Your past does not have to dictate your future. You have power over your future and where you are going in your life. By encouraging yourself, choosing where to place your focus, you can change your life and the lives of those around you. By empowering yourself, you can then empower other people around you.

Here’s what Irene Foster President of the Texas Foster Family Association had to say about the book. “This book is about the power of encouragement. It is also about the importance of listening and the power of positive thinking. There are many excellent examples of taking the “cards you are dealt” in your life, changing up the game plan, overcoming obstacles and past traumas, and having the happy life you desire and can make for yourself.”

“As I read the book, I kept thinking of the difference between telling someone to “Have a great day” and “Make it a great day.” This book sends that message – it is up to each person to determine the kind of day they have because it is all about attitude.

The author has done a brilliant job of sharing how she changed her attitude to become the person she is today. Thank you, Mary Banos, for sharing your trials and your triumphs and how each person can do the same.”

When you accomplish dreams, you will feel empowered. People in your life can feel empowered by watching you reach those dreams. You and those around you can encourage each other. Around you day-to-day are people who you can encourage.

Simply listening to someone who needs a person to hear them can lighten their day. To encourage someone is to nurture their hearts and spirits. How many people around you could feel inspired just by you noticing them, and taking a moment to uplift them?
