Indio, CA, February 27, 2012 — A new, low-cost online video chemistry tutor is helping high school students improve grades in chemistry, overall GPA, and prepare for college ACT and SAT tests.
The new high school chemistry online tutor at http://www.Chemin10.com was created by California high school chemistry and physics teacher Melanie Fine. The site features video lessons that are taught in just 10 minutes a day.
“Parents and students are surprised at how easy it is to improve chemistry grades. Each lesson is only 10 minutes long, and I make it fun and entertaining, so students actually look forward to the next lesson. One lesson a day is all it takes to improve chemistry grades, improve the overall GPA, and even help prepare for college entrance exams,” explained Fine.
The web site http://Chemin10.com is an online chemistry tutor that teaches high school chemistry in daily 10-minute easy-to-learn videos, along with interactive lessons and quizzes, a help forum, and an online classroom.
“By devoting small amounts of time on a daily basis, students learn that challenging tasks can be accomplished through dedicated, daily action. This is a skill that will benefit them for a lifetime in school, a career, and in life,” she added.
A brief 3-minute video on the site explains the online chemistry tutoring program. Students watch a series of 10-minute videos that make chemistry easy to understand. Each video is followed by a brief quiz that helps to reinforce the information from the video. Students can post questions anytime they wish and Fine will provide them with answers.
Fine earned her degree in chemistry from Cornell University in 1987. She has a California single-subject secondary teaching credential in both chemistry and physics. She received recognition and honors as a teacher, being named an Amgen Fellow of the National Science Teachers Association, a Fellow of the College Board in AP Chemistry and the recipient of the American Vacuum Society’s prestigious low pressure educator grant. She teaches Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physics at Coachella Valley High School in Thermal, California. She also holds a masters degree in sacred music.
The online chemistry video lessons cover all the normal subjects found in a basic high school chemistry course. These topics include such things as matter, atoms, molecules, states of matter, solutions, acids and bases, oxidation-reduction reactions, rates of reactions and equilibrium, thermochemistry and stoichiometry.
