Dubai, 19th June 2013– Ramadan is considered to be the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. A month in which Muslims around the world not only fast but celebrate this special time by showing humility, spending time with loved ones and giving the most of themselves as a means of charity. However Ramadan is a sensitive time when one can offend a colleague or acquaintance without realising.
Eton Institute, UAE’s largest training and development centre, is organising free workshops in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to help the expat community know more about the Holy month and prepare for it accordingly. This workshop will educate participants about the basic etiquettes of Ramadan and introduce them to the rich heritage of Arab culture.
“Being a multicultural country, UAE has a large number of expats and people from all walks of life. This workshop is a great opportunity for everyone to gain an insight into the customs and culture of the Arab World during Ramadan. Our aim is to bring the community together in recognition of the month of Ramadan and help them be mindful of the etiquette to be observed during the Holy month,” commented Moaz Khan, Marketing Director at Eton Institute.
“At the workshop, attendees will be able to experience Arabic culture first-hand by tasting authentic Arabic coffee and dates, as well as covering topics such as do’s and don’ts during Ramadan in the UAE and identifying and demonstrating appropriate cultural sensitivity in one’s approach,” he added.
The Free Workshop will be conducted in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as follows:
