Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Heliopolis marked Earth hour for the fourth year time by turned out the light last Saturday, March 23rd at 8:30 pm for one hour and joined millions of people worldwide in recognition of Earth Hour 2013.

Earth Hour is a global event organized by World Wild Fund for Nature and held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking every individual, business and community to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change

In line with Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group corporate social responsibility program, the hotel ensures that all employees undergo training on how they can reduce, reuse and recycle both at work and at home. A large number of the hotel team helped out to “switch off” power in most of the hotel areas including guest rooms and restaurants.

Special activities took place in this event as Filini served a healthy Candle-lit dinner with a soft music in the background and the entrance was decorated with organic food, at 1122 a duo were performing where a healthy juice was served while at Mix it is spectacularly lit by candles from 8.30pm during Earth Hour.

At the end of the event a raffle took place where the gifts were electric power saving bulb as a souvenir for this environmental event.
