If you want to make things as personal as they can be, this is the best solution you can turn to in the end. The only difference is that the complete name of the blog will not be same in the end.
If you will build your site form the ground up, you can choose your name followed by the extension that will meet your demands. If you will turn to free blog sites so you can connect with the world, your name will be followed by the name of the source and their extension instead, but you can still make the blog personal.
