The purpose of their studies was to make a comparison between kettlebells and traditional barbells. In this study took part 30 healthy men with one year of experience in the field of weight training. They were divided into two groups: the group that uses kettlebells and the group that uses barbells and were asked to train only twice a week. At the end of the study, specialists could see that both the kettlebells and the barbells enabled the increase of strength in the back squat, even though the results were slightly better in the case of barbell users. Besides, body composition measurements did not change significantly in either of the two groups. Nevertheless, the results were in favor of kettlebell training because they showed that kettlebells are an effective alternative to improve strength and power in athletes.
