Dubai, 20th March 2013– One of the oldest traditions of Iran, “Nowruz” (which literally means “New Day”) is the Iranian New Year celebrated not just in Iran, but also in a number of other countries including parts of Central Asia, Caucasus and South Asia. Originally being a Zoroastrian festival, Nowruz is believed to have been invented by the Persian Prophet Zoroaster himself. The day represents a new year and a new beginning, a time for family and prayers for good fortune.

Eton’s Iranian cultural evening will give participants a chance to enjoy historical tales of Persia, familiarize themselves with the Persian language, observe the ceremonial table called ‘Haft–Seen’, a cloth of seven dishes, and also taste authentic Iranian food.
“There is so much to learn about the Iranian culture that organizing a cultural evening revolving around the Iranian New Year is a perfect way to spread cultural awareness. Bonfires, sweets, visiting houses of friends and family are all part of the celebrations of the special day. The cultural evening will take participants back to the ancient Iranian culture where they will get a chance to experience all these celebrations and more,” commented Moaz Khan, Marketing Director at Eton Institute.
The Iranian Cultural Evening will be held on Wednesday, 27th March from7.00pm to 8.30pm in the Language Studio, Eton Institute, Dubai Knowledge Village, Block 3. For more details visit www.eton.ac or call 800 ETON (800 3866) and speak to an advisor.
