Troy, MI, October 18, 2011 — The Michigan Wellness Council (MWC) will have its inaugural meeting to begin its statewide charge to centralize corporate health and wellness best practices Wednesday, November 9, 8-10 a.m., at Compuware Corporate Headquarters in Detroit. The featured speaker is Dee Edington, Ph.D., director of the University of Michigan Health Management Research Center.

"Previously, businesses have not had the resources necessary to effectively impact health care costs across the entire spectrum of care," said Scott Foster, MWC chairman and president of Wellco, a leading Michigan-based corporate health and wellness consulting firm.  "The Michigan Wellness Council is proud to be the first to provide non-proprietary, non-profit resources to help businesses throughout the state effectively control medical costs."

The event will feature a continental breakfast, exhibit tables and networking in addition to Dr. Edington's presentation.

Cost to attend this informational breakfast is $15 in advance. An additional $5 will be charged to those registering on the day of the event. To register, contact the Troy Chamber at 248-641-8151, [email protected] or visit www.troychamber.com/cal. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available. Contact the Chamber.
