Trade exhibition Playworld Middle East is shaping up for a successful third edition in March in Dubai. A highly focused, niche event, the upcoming edition will be co-located with GESS, the trade fair for educational supplies and solutions, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Playworld Middle East announced recently.
With around 24% of the world population expected to be between the ages of 0-14 by 2020, the potential growth market for toys, games and educational products continues to be attractive. Research by Euromonitor International indicates that population growth rates in the Middle East, emerging Asia and Africa remain higher than the global average, auguring well for these sectors.
This is expected to drive further interest in both Playworld Middle East and GESS. Playworld Middle East brings together the world of toys, games and children’s lifestyle products. Meanwhile GESS, the Gulf Educational Supplies & Solutions exhibition, showcases ICT and e-learning solutions along with a range of other scientific educational supplies.
Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of organiser, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said: “Our co-location with GESS is a strategic move to further enhance the offerings of this niche trade fair. The MENA market for scientific/educational toys amounted to US$69.2 million in 2011. Education is a hugely important sector and is essential for the region’s future growth and development.”
Matt Thompson, Project Director, GESS, said: “Our co-location with Playworld Middle East will enhance the trade visitors’ experience as they can benefit from shared synergies. At GESS visitors can source the latest education technologies and solutions while staying abreast of the latest international trends.”
Playworld Middle East is expected to reflect the mounting interest of global toys and games manufacturers in the high-spending markets of the region when it takes place in Dubai in March, while GESS 2013 will benefit from the increasing investments in the Gulf education market. With visitor profiles that span the wider region, the fairs have gained the reputation of being finely-focused trade events that generate good business leads.
Designed to represent the entire spectrum of products covering the world of kids, Playworld Middle East features: Toys and Games; Baby, Infant and Pre-school products; Bicycles and Sports Equipment; Models and Electronics; Dolls; and Children’s Lifestyle products. GESS features the entire spectrum of educational supplies and solutions. The trade fairs will take place from March 5 to 7, 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
