Online Reputation Management Training for Redcliffe Businesses

Another Redcliffe Business Meet-Up With Online Marketing Help for Small Businesses

There is another chance coming up for passionate local Redcliffe business leaders to meet up and get some help with their online marketing efforts, as Mick Cullen hosts a get-together on Monday 27th June 2011 at a local venue yet to be determined, aimed at training businesses up on how to manage their online reputation!

Mick is the MD of Redcliffe Marketing Labs and has made it his business to drag Redcliffe local businesses kicking and screaming into the digital age! He may deny that this is his intention but he seems to be doing the job of training the main aspects of online marketing, social media and search engine optimization almost single-handedly in the area by hosting these types of meet-ups every month.

The meet-ups are more than a training session though. Mick will deliver a presentation on a particular subject related to Australian online business marketing – last month was on LinkedIn – and it will be followed by a discussion where business leaders can ask questions, relate scenarios they have faced and ask for advice on certain aspects of the topic at hand.

Why does online reputation matter to a business and what can you do about it? Well, to answer the first question we can first call upon the wisdom of Warren Buffet, who said “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.”

Mick Cullen believes that online is no different to offline in this respect. He says “With the growth of social media/blogging sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Blogger, Review sites etc it is easy to interact and air opinions about anything – including your products and services….Do a Google search on your own name, staff and your company’s name. If the results aren't what you'd like (can't find you, official sites not ranking at the top, non-flattering) then you already need online reputation management.”

The best thing is, these meet-ups don’t just show you what needs to be done, they show you how how to do it! There are some very clear steps of action that will be proposed in the meet-up including proactive management, owning your own space, monitoring your reputation, using tools, triage, how to avoid bad press, creating your own good press and how to go about introducing staff and social media policies.

As expressed by one local business leader, who is a regular attendee of the meet-ups:“ I am sure that as small business owners get to understand the need to be involved with marketing a business online, the group will have a great growth, as the presenter gave good and relevant information pertaining to excellent small business practices online.”

If you’re a local business leader who wants to grow their online presence and meet like-minded individuals then this may be a great opportunity to show your face.
