As part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and to extend a helping hand to the differently-abled, Dunkin’ Donuts recently presented a cheque for AED 40,000 to the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) – a charity set up to support children with special needs. The amount was raised through a special promotion organised by the coffee and baked goods chain.

Speaking on the occasion, David Rodgers, General Manager of Dunkin’ Donuts said: “We are extremely happy to continue our association with the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. The charity has been doing outstanding work with these children, and we are extremely pleased to contribute to this worthy cause. Participating in this endeavour not only gives us great joy, but also a chance to express our gratitude to the people of the local community.”

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services was founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf region, aiming to advance the Arab family and develop social services. It evolved over the years and was declared an independent organisation in the Emirate of Sharjah by decree of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Today, under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, SCHS’ services benefit more than three thousand persons with disabilities from different nationalities and age groups annually.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin' Donuts is the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world with more than 9,000 restaurants in 31 countries. A global leader in the regular/decaf coffee, iced coffee, hot flavored coffee, donut, bagel and muffin categories, the company has 69 outlets all across the UAE.
