New York City, NY, November 18, 2011 — Challenges Of Monetizing Digital Content To Be Discussed By Experts. MIT Enterprise Forum of NYC will Host Panel December 1st, 2011.
How do you make money with a freemium model? It’s been five years since Fred Wilson popularized this approach; yet, five years later, online content businesses are still struggling to find business models that will generate profits. What effect do soft pay walls have on unique visitor numbers? How might rent vs. buy pay off? What about the “pay what you want” model? What differences can transaction platforms make? What other possibilities exist?
These are among the issues that will be discussed on Thursday evening, December 1st, by a panel of experts, organized by the MIT Enterprise Forum of NYC.
The event title is: Better Strategies for Monetizing Digital Offerings: Thinking Out of the Box while Looking across Industry Silos. The moderator will be Howard Lee Morgan, PhD, Co-Founder and Partner, First Round Capital. The panelists: Betsy Morgan, President, TheBlaze.com; Shawn Price, President, Zuora.com; Richard Reisman, President, Teleshuttle Corporation, and Paul Smurl, Vice President, NYTimes.com.
Open to the general public, the event will take place at Holland & Knight, 31 West 52d Street, New York, with registration at 5:30 and the program from 6 pm to 7:45 pm.
